Somedays I can’t believe that I am already in the third trimester of my pregnancy. Other days, when I can’t hardly make it up the stairs or when the baby kicks my bladder so hard I think I may pee my pants, or when my contractions are so bad I think I am going into labor, it’s a little easier to believe. My small maternity clothes just aren’t cutting it anymore. I feel like I have the weirdest shaped belly with this pregnancy. My first three pregnancies it looked like a perfectly round basketball balancing on my belly, or at least I thought so at the time? It probably didn’t look as cute as I remember. I never retained any water and honestly didn’t gain much weight other than in my belly. This time around everything is swollen, my hips are curvier than ever, and all my maternity clothes are just a little bit tighter. No complaints here though! I enjoying indulging in all my cravings. Oh do I ever. My favorite craving has been pie. Thankfully we have a place in town that makes fresh, homemade pies daily and you can buy them by the slice. Some of my other yummy cravings have been ice cream& pickles (horribly cliche), Raisinets, spicy spicy salsa, Mexican food, cheesy broccoli soup, donuts, apples and oranges. Really all over the place.
Also I have been resting as much as possible because my body and midwife are telling me to, and I have already learned the hard way what happens when I don’t listen to my body. In my final phase of pregnancy I am going for comfort all around. If I have to wear pants I want sweat pants, and if I want to look a little bit nicer I am all about the maxi dress. Maxi’s have to be my favorite maternity clothing to wear. I have always loved wearing them, but the comfort they provide is essential for my growing body right now. This one I’m wearing is from Pink Blush Maternity and doubles as a nursing maxi for after the baby is born, genius! Seriously the comfiest dress ever and I feel beautiful in it’s simplicity. You can dress it up with some jewels or throw on a scarf and a sweater.
I adore Pink Blush Maternity because their line is so adorable and super affordable. You have to check it out if you are expecting!
