Cinnamon roll apple pie

Apple pie

 

You will need:

  • 8-10 apples ( any kind you want, tart works the best )
  • 1 pie crust ( or if you have the time, make your own!)
  • 1 tube of pre-made cinnamon rolls
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon

Grease your pie pan. Press cinnamon rolls into the bottom of your pan as your crust. Make sure you go all the way up the sides. ( In my picture I had not finished up the sides yet!)

Peel, core & chop up apples. Throw those on top of your cinnamon roll crust.

Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon evenly over apples. Slice butter into two even slabs and place over apples.

Top with pre-made (or your homemade :) ) pie crust and pinch together with cinnamon rolls to close. Make slits in the top.Then cover the outer edges with tin foil. This will make sure the edges do not get burnt as they cook faster than the inside.

Bake at 425° for 40 minutes. Remove tinfoil and bake for another 10 minutes. Serve with ice cream or cool whip.

 

This dessert really is “easy as pie”! Very simple and delicious apple pie recipe! The cinnamon roll crust adds a little kick of cinnamon.

    This was AMAZING!!! It was perfect amount of extra flavor by using the cinnamon rolls for the bottom. A fun new way to make the pie more unique I thought.
