Chocolate Guinness cake w/ cream cheese frosting

Ingredients
  • 250 ml Guinness
  • 16 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • 1¾ cups sugar
  • 5 ounces sour cream
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1¼ cups flour
  • 2 ½ teaspoons baking soda
  • 10 ounces cream cheese
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • ½ cup whipping cream
Instructions
  1. Pour the Guinness into a large pot, at the butter in slices.
  2. Heat until the butter melts.
  3. Whisk in cocoa and sugar.
  4. In a mixing bowl or stand mixer, beat the sour cream, eggs, and vanilla.
  5. Pour mixing bowl mixture in with the Guinness in the pot.
  6. Whisk in flour and baking soda.
  7. Pour the cake batter into a butter greased 9 inch cake pan.
  8. Bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees.
  9. While cake is cooling, make the frosting.
  10. Whip the cream cheese until smooth.
  11. Slowly add the powdered sugar while mixing until all is incorporated.
  12. Add the cream, a little at a time, and whip until you reach a good consistency.
  13. Ice your cake!
