frenchtoast (1)

frenchtoast (2)

  • 1/4  cup butter
  • 3/4  cup brown sugar
  • 4  eggs
  • 1 1/2  cups milk
  • 1  teaspoon vanilla
  • 1  tablespoon powdered sugar
  • brown sugar, white sugar & cinnamon (for sprinkling)
  • 1 loaf of cinnamon swirl bread (or regular bread)
  • butter, for spreading

In a mixing bowl stir together melted butter and brown sugar. Spread mixture into the botton of a butter-greased 9×13 pan. Whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, and powdered sugar. Place a layer of bread over the brown sugar/butter mixture in the pan. Ladle half of the egg mixture over that. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Butter the next layer of bread and layer it just as you did the last pieces, butter side up. Ladle the rest of the egg mixture over the top and sprinkle with white sugar and cinnamon. Cover and store in fridge overnight. In the morning remove from fridge and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
