Happy 4 year anniversary to my main squeeze!

Life just keeps getting better with you Ralph. We are at home together all day long and I never ever get sick of you, can you believe it? Ok maybe when you leave your wet towel on the bed in the morning I get a little perturbed but I still never want to be away from you. When I go run an errand or on the nights I teach catechism, I miss you. I am proud to call you my husband and lucky to live each day with you by my side. You have made me one happy lady and I love you!

Hannah (1)More about Ralph here.

And some wedding photos from our 3 year anny post.

We celebrated with dinner at the Melting Pot last night and it was divine. Cheers to so many more happy years together.

Happy 1 year anniversary!

Today marks the one year anniversary of It’s What’s For Dinner! Yay! I can’t believe it has been a year already!

I started this blog to share recipes and teach my Tastefully Simple clients how to use their products. That still is my main focus for this blog, however, in the past year,I discovered that I love to write about other things that I enjoy, like my family, projects and fashion. Therefore my blog is getting a make-over, into more of a family type blog. It will simply be called “The Holzmanns” and will have post categories, including an “It’s What’s For Dinner” category that will have all my recipes. I have been working with a designer for about 2 weeks now and I can’t wait to debut my new design! I didn’t want to shock you guys by just switching my design… so if you come to my site in a few days and it looks totally different have no fear! You are still in the right place!

I will still be posting recipes regularly! So if you are only here for the recipes (which is great!) then you can read only those if you choose. I obviously really value what you, my readers, so when thinking about all my new changes — I didn’t want to lose any of you due to my mid-blog crisis. Heck you guys are what make this blog even possible! That being said, I have been tracking all my readers and page views from the beginning, and my highest days of readers are days when I post about non-food related things. That is what gave me courage to make such a big switch for my blog.

I also wanted to thank you for making my blog a success! I did not start my blog with the intention of making any money from it, nor did I even know that was a possibility. But as a stay at home mother of three, this extra income helps me to maintain this site and help support my family. I never really expected to be where I am today with this blog, so thanks a million trillion. Not a day goes by that I don’t count my huge blessing of being able to be home with my kids every single day.

This year I hope to continue to improve on my photography. I have learned that pictures can make or break a blog post. Last year around this time  this is what my pictures looked like. (yikes, right?!)

And the improved….

So you can see I have come a long way, but still have so much to learn. I have begun to learn the importance of good lighting and props, but don’t quite have it mastered. And have so much to learn when it come to editing.

So thanks again for reading and I hope you stick around for another fun year!

25 ways to say I love you…

For my husband’s 25th birthday the kids and I made him a book titled “25 ways to say we love you”.We went around making the words I love you with everything we could think of and then took pictures, had the pictures printed and made a little book. Here are some of our favorite ones…

You could do this for any age or anniversary! The kids had so much fun trying to think of more ways we could say I love you to daddy :) We put the photos in plastic ziplock bags and stapled them together for a “homemade” photo book and then designed a cover.
