Sweet gift idea for your husband

The Christmas after we got married I decided to start writing down all the reasons I love Ralph. I didn’t know what I planned on doing with it but the idea was to come up with some sort of gift out of it. After I had a long list, I started searching for the perfect gift. I thought about how people sign those matte frame things at weddings and got to thinking– that would be perfect! I found a great calligrapher named Sharon Thomas. I can’t remember exactly how much it cost to have done but I know it wasn’t too bad. And if you have nice writing you can do this yourself. So I sent her the matte of the frame and the list of things I wanted on it. When I got it back in the mail I was so happy with the way it turned out! I put one of our wedding pictures in it and gave it to Ralph for Christmas. He was really surprised and loved it! Now it hangs on our black and white picture wall.

It was really fun making the list and I must say, it is nice to have those reminders of all the reasons why I love him, hanging in the hallway. Lets face it, marriage is awesome but it takes work, and there are those occasional times that we don’t see eye to eye :)

xoxo, the storks.

So for the past 8 months, my friend Emily and I have been playing the very important role of “the storks”. Our friend Theresa is pregnant with a baby girl and we decided to leave her secret little presents on her doorstep throughout her pregnancy, signing them, the storks. Here are some of the gifts ideas that we did…[so sorry for the quality of the pics, I didn’t think to take pictures with my good camera before dropping them off :) ]

First a pregnancy calendar to introduce ourselves.

Get it? Flutter. It would have been way cooler with a BUTTERFLY but we couldn’t find one.

Morning sickness cures!

After the loss of her sweet grandpa.

Our guess before the big gender reveal party! We really thought it was going to be a girl for the record…but we had told her that so many times that we HAD to guess a boy to throw her off even more.

Whoops we were wrong. But not really.

Again….get it?

Then we finally revealed our identities are her baby shower. We wrapped up a pretty pink plush stork and sent this cute little poem along with it. {Emily did the poem & research behind the stork which turned out to be religious and adorable}

Here is the note we included: The legend of the stork

She didn’t know it was us! yay! We had to be really sneaky…one time I drove past her house 7 different times and her car was there every time so I couldn’t drop it off until I knew she was gone. Talk about feeling like a creeper. Another time we thought she was onto us, we had my husband drop off a gift at her house while we were out with her. Muahaha.

Kids birthday present idea

Use an empty box of Kleenex and stuff with dollar bills taped together. Put “don’t BLOW it all in one place” on the tag. You should see kids faces when the money doesn’t stop coming out, its like a magic trick! Thanks to Pinterest for this awesome idea! We have used it more than once this summer!

25 ways to say I love you…

For my husband’s 25th birthday the kids and I made him a book titled “25 ways to say we love you”.We went around making the words I love you with everything we could think of and then took pictures, had the pictures printed and made a little book. Here are some of our favorite ones…

You could do this for any age or anniversary! The kids had so much fun trying to think of more ways we could say I love you to daddy :) We put the photos in plastic ziplock bags and stapled them together for a “homemade” photo book and then designed a cover.
