Wine cork, cork board

Like all you other wino’s out there, we save our wine corks. I just feel like they are too cool to throw away. With no idea what to do with them, I started my Pinterest search. I found so many cool ideas! Round 1: Wine Cork Board

You will need:

  • wine corks
  • old frame with glass taken out
  • spray paint (optional)
  • hot glue gun

I used an old thrift store frame, and spray painted it off white. Take the glass out of your frame and use the heavier cardboard backing to glue your corks on. If your frame doesn’t have a sturdy backing you may want to concoct something out of plywood or a sturdy cardboard.

Once your frame is dry, place your backing in place and start to arrange your corks. You can make any pattern you want, its pretty tricky to get them to fit. I ended up cutting a few to make it work. Then all you need to do is hot glue them in place.

This was my first go at it. I hope to make a larger version where the corks fit a little better next time. I still am relatively happy with the way it turned out.I have a lot more wine cork projects coming up! Stay tuned!
